Victor Aparicio Unveils Inspiring Photography Exhibit at the Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts

Winston-Salem, September 18, 2023

— In collaboration with the Arts Council of Winston-Salem, the Valuable Woman (Mujer Valiosa) Community, and Guipil Publishing, the Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts is honored to host a riveting new exhibition by the renowned local artist, Victor Aparicio. Titled “Fotografías que Inspiran – Imágenes que cuentan una historia,” (Photograhs that Inspire, Images that tell a story) this exposition delves deep into the soul of Latin culture, traditions, and everyday life.

Showcasing his exceptional talent in capturing raw emotion, Victor’s collection revolves around three primary themes:

– Culture: Offering a glance into the lives of the community and their traditions.

– Work: Celebrating the spirit of individuals across age groups and the beauty embedded in their work.

– Landmark: Transporting viewers to iconic scenes saturated in rich Latino traditions and nature’s bounty.

The Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts invites art enthusiasts, the press, and the local community to the opening reception on Thursday, September 28, from 5 to 7 pm. Guests can anticipate a blend of enthralling art, refreshing cocktails, a cash bar, and delightful appetizers. Victor Aparicio will share the stories and passion behind his inspiring collection. Every photograph on display will be available for purchase, with proceeds channeled towards aiding the commendable efforts of the Valuable Woman Community. In addition, limited-edition prints and postcards will be accessible, allowing guests to own a tangible reminder of their experience.

Significantly, a selection from this collection will journey to various schools and community venues across Forsyth County and North Carolina, fortifying the cultural and historical awareness among the youth. Schools keen on this immersive experience can book guided tours accentuating the cultural and historical narratives behind each photograph.

Victor Aparicio, reflecting on the exhibition, says, “I am grateful to the Arts Council of Winston-Salem for this amazing opportunity to present a collection so close to my heart. Every photograph tells a story from my trips back to Guatemala, showing our people, traditions and landmarks. This exhibit, I believe, will be a special feature of the Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations in Winston-Salem.”

About Victor Aparicio: With strong ties to his Guatemalan heritage, Victor Aparicio is a stellar graphic artist and photographer. A proud graduate of the Universidad Francisco Marroquín, his work spans across web and graphic design, typography, and photography. Presently based in Winston-Salem, Victor passionately engages in projects emphasizing education and culture through art for the Guipil Festival. His previous “Expo-Photo Miami” initiative is a testament to his photographic ability. As the CMO of Editorial Güipil, he has solidified his place in contemporary art and design.
